CBHA employees

At CBHA, we want to involve CBHA residents in everything we do. Here are some of the ways you can get involved with supporting us

Join the CBHA Board

Want to get your voice heard and help run the CBHA? The CBHA is run by a Board of 10 people, with 5 places reserved for residents and a resident Chairperson. The Board has overall responsibility for the governance, finance and performance of the CBHA.

Resident Board members can access the same training and support as non-resident Board members, to help them support the communities interests effectively.

Board members are selected for specific skills and expertise that will help the CBHA to run efficiently and improve services in a cost-effective way. Examples include: law, finance and housing.

When a vacancy arises for a resident board member, it will be advertised locally and the CBHA offers help and support for anyone who is considering applying.

Focus Groups

We hold Focus Groups throughout the year to discuss specific services, policies or new initiatives. It’s an opportunity for residents to give feedback and put forward suggestions to help shape our activities.

Any CBHA resident can volunteer to participate in community activities – and we’d love to have your support!

You don’t need a particular skill or talent - only some spare time, enthusiasm and commitment.
Volunteering doesn’t only make our neighbourhoods better places for everyone, it is also a way to learn great new skills and improve your CV. Volunteering opportunities focus on the following areas:

  • Representing residents
  • Neighbourhood activities
  • Environmental schemes
  • Youth work
  • Workplace learning & experience

There are lots of great opportunities to get involved, such as our healthy lifestyle programmes (made possible with funding from the National Lottery).

To find out more, please contact your area office.
