Waltham Forest Council consultation- changes to temporary accommodation guidelines
The LBWF council is considering some changes to its guidelines about where homeless households can be placed in temporary accommodation. Waltham Forest council would like to hear the views of current residents on the proposed changes- get your voice heard, take part in their consultation.
The costs of the service in question are increasing as there has been a sharp rise in homelessness in Waltham Forest over the past year, largely due to local increases in rent and welfare benefit reforms, with temporary accommodation in both Waltham Forest and surrounding areas becoming scarce and expensive.
This means the council is considering changing the current guidelines to place some homeless households further away from the borough. However individual circumstances will always be taken into account when allocating temporary accommodation.
Waltham Forest council would like to hear your views on the proposals being made.
To find out more or to get your voice heard please visit the Waltham Forest Council’s website and complete the consultation.
The consultation will run until 15th February 2015.
