Serving on the board
The CBHA is run by a board of 15 people, with 10 of the 15 places reserved for residents.
The residents in each area elect resident board members to represent them.
Each resident member lives within the local community and is very much in touch with local views. This helps us to make sure that we are able to provide the services that our residents expect and to make changes quickly and efficiently to help us to achieve this.
Resident board members receive training and support to help them to carry out their duties effectively. Many of them bring varied experiences from other areas to help them in their role, but they all share one common experience and expertise – that of being a resident and service user on a CBHA area.
The non-resident board members bring other skills and expertise to the CBHA including law, finance and housing. This helps to ensure that CBHA is run efficiently and effectively, providing continuous improvement to services in a cost-effective way.
