Some resident Board members took a tour around CBHA’s four areas on Friday to familiarise themselves with the properties and facilities in Leytonstone, Leyton, Cathall and Chingford. The group included Sandra Skeete, Dorit Raymond, Councillor Terry Wheeler, Robert Ogle and Giles Colchester along with some CBHA staff.
Dorit Raymond, who joined the Board when it was restructured last year, said she was very impressed with the standards in each of the areas. “Everywhere was well maintained, clean and tidy,” she said.
“The layout of each place is different and they have their own character. It was interesting to see the sites of some new CBHA projects, such as the Clayton Court development in Walthamstow where we are building 30 eco-friendly homes.”
Dorit, who lives in the Cathall area, enjoyed looking around the Score community centre in Leyton and the Paradox community centre and youth wing in Chingford. “We also went into all the area offices and met the staff. It was particularly interesting to see the repairs call centre in Walthamstow which handles all the repairs calls from the four CBHA areas.”
She added that getting to know the homes, facilities and sites of projects would inform them in future Board and committee meetings.
