The serious issue of bogus callers is the theme of a free theatre production called Ma Kelly's Doorstep. CBHA residents are invited to attend the shows in their areas.
The production, by the Attic Theatre Company, has been arranged by LB Waltham Forest and local police to highlight distraction burglary.
There will be a presentation by the HEET Project (energy efficiency and home security) and crime prevention advice.
The event at Chingford Assembly Hall will be also a crime prevention day, with Age Uk and other organisations attending. Officers from the local Safer Neighbourhoods teams will also be on hand.
