A total of 61 young people took part in CBHA’s summer programme this year, enjoying a wide range of activities and trips.
A group of 17 girls went on a residential trip to an adventure centre in Sussex, young men attended a self-development group and a further group visited Send prison in Surrey.
But what did the young people enjoy most? Top of their list was the arts and craft sessions, the garden project outside the youth club in Chingford, learning DJ skills, games tournaments and the Coat of Arms self development project.
Youth worker Douglas Muhammed said: “Thirteen young males attended Coat of Arms. Each were given their own personal work book containing challenges designed to improve team work, reflective skills, conflict resolution and anger management.
“As part of their reward for working hard and completing task, they spent the day at a golf course on the driving range and 18-hole course.”
Coat of Arms is continuing during youth club sessions.
Meanwhile, the girls were going to Mirror Image which involved film making. They looked at topics such as one night stands and respect.
During the residential trip, they filmed clips for a documentary about the Mirror Image project.
Young people also took part in treasure hunts, football with Tottenham Hotspur Kickz scheme and a fashion project over the summer.
The final word goes to the young people who said: “We want to see more sport such as bike racing, running, rounders, football, tennis, plus Nintendo Wii tournaments and trips to adventure parks.”
CBHA will look into it...
