Sporting chance
The ‘Sporting Chance’ project (funded by London Development Agency) combines sports and cultural activities and events in order to raise awareness of opportunities for work and volunteering presented by the Olympics. The project is running over three years, from July 2007 to March 2010.
The project is being delivered through three key partners:

Football for Fun
Football for Fun runs sporting events at which beneficiaries undergo a simple self-assessment and register at one of the participating centres for employment support and accredited Skills for Life and IT CLAIT qualifications.
CBHA is conducting community outreach work as well as providing employment support and referring beneficiaries to register at one of the participating Peabody and CBHA centres for accredited Skills for Life and IT CLAIT qualifications.
CBHA assists beneficiaries to:

Plan routes into work or training by providing Employment Mapping sessions using:
- Job Search Sessions to cover CV building, application forms, cover letters, telephone & interview techniques and presentation skills
- TEM (The Employability Map) to measure beneficiaries progress to employability and provide beneficiaries support in key skill areas identified in their Individual Learning Plan

Level 1 – City & Guilds 3792 Certificate in Literacy
Level 1 – City & Guilds 3792 Certificate in Numeracy
Level 2 – City & Guilds 3792 Certificate in Literacy
