Paying rent

How to pay

To make things as easy as possible, we have provided a range of ways in which you can pay your rent:

Residents are expected you to pay their rent regularly and on time. Non-payment of rent is taken seriously and CBHA has strict rent recovery procedures in place. Rent statements are sent out four times a year to keep residents as up-to-date as possible with their rent accounts. If you require statements on a more frequent basis please contact us.

If you would like to request a balance of your rent account or statement, or register to receive your rent statement by email please contact CBHA

Direct debit
CBHA accepts payments for rent by direct debit. We will only collect the amount that has been agreed with you, and we operate under the Direct Debit Guarantee, which guarantees a full and immediate refund of any monies taken in error. We will expect your direct debit payment to be made in advance.

If you have a direct debit payment that fails more than three consecutive times, this facility will be withdrawn and you may be liable for CBHA's administration costs.

If you wish to pay by direct debit, please contact CBHA.

After registration, you will be shown a demonstration of how to pay your rent by text message. Once the registration is complete you can start to pay using text messaging.

If you change your phone number you will need to alter your details on the website.

Post Office
Once your rent account is set up you will receive a rent card. If you have not received this by the end of the first week of your tenancy please contact CBHA. You will receive a plastic swipe card through the post for each type of payment that you need to make for example:

  • rent (including any charge for heating and hot water or water rates)
  • home contents insurance

Payment at the Post Office can be by cash and/or cheque. Cheques should be made payable to Post Office Ltd. You will be issued with a receipt each time you pay. This is your proof of payment, so please ensure that you keep it somewhere safe.
