Domestic violence
Domestic violence is any threatened or actual violence carried out by one person on another within the home. It can be physical, verbal or emotional abuse. It can be against men, women, adults or children. It includes violence from a partner, or from an ex-partner who does not live in the property, and violence between brothers and sisters, parents and children or between any people who share a home.
CBHA may take legal action against anybody who commits, causes or threatens domestic violence, which could lead to the offender losing their home.
If you are experiencing domestic violence, it is important that you get independent legal advice to make sure that you know all of your options before you take any action.
CBHA does not have any emergency housing but if you want to leave your home, your housing manager can give you information about local agencies, such as the council, who provide emergency accommodation. The housing manager or anti-social behaviour officer may also, with your permission, refer you to a tenant support worker who will support you through the process and has access to specialist advice services.
For more information, please contact your CBHA housing manager on 020 7922 8500 or email here. In an emergency dial 999 and ask for the police.
