Hate crime
Hate crime is behaviour that deliberately aims to harm or intimidate a person, usually motivated by prejudice against someone’s race, colour, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, sex, age, disability or sexuality.
Examples of this type of behaviour include verbal abuse, using or threatening violence, using an animal to threaten another person, using abusive, racist or insulting words or behaviour, threatening or abusive letters, phone calls or e-mails, damage to property, graffiti - anything that interferes with the peace, comfort or convenience of other people.
CBHA will take action against anybody who harasses other residents, visitors or our employees and contractors because of their race, colour, religion, sex, sexuality, age, disability or medical condition.
We may take legal action which could lead to the offender losing their home. We will report any criminal act to the police.
