Flexible working

CBHA recognises that employees need to combine work with the demands of family and other personal interests and responsibilities. To help balance these commitments more effectively, we offer the following flexible working arrangements:

Flexi-leave
We offer non-senior staff the choice to participate in a flexi-time system, by working additional hours (within prescribed limits and with the agreement of their line manager) to accrue ‘flexi-leave’.

Carers'/dependants' leave
We recognise there will be occasions when staff need to provide emergency care for dependents, whether they are children, a partner, or an elderly or frail relative. All staff, regardless of length of service, may request unpaid time off to support their dependents, and may also apply for compassionate leave if required.

Parental leave
Parents of young children are often under pressure to balance their caring responsibilities with work demands. To assist working parents of children under five years of age (disabled children up to 18 years) we offer up to 13 weeks' unpaid leave.

Maternity leave
We offer enhanced maternity pay and up to 52 weeks leave to staff, inclusive of ordinary and additional leave. We are also committed to supporting women who wish to return to work after maternity leave through part time working or job share.

Paternity leave
CBHA appreciates a partner's wish to assist with childcare responsibilities for a new born child, and offers ten days' paid leave after the birth of the baby for staff with 26 weeks' service or more.

Adoption leave
We recognise that adoptive parents are faced with no less a demanding task than birth parents, so we offer an equivalent leave and benefits package to support employees welcoming a new family member into their lives.

Career breaks
Career breaks can be agreed for staff who wish to participate in full time further education, travel or for family care reasons. Agreement may be subject to service qualification.

Flexible Working
CBHA will consider any requests for part-time hours, compressed hours, and other alternative working patterns or arrangements.
